B&B Energy Saving Services
B & B Air Conditioning and Heating Services offers ENERGY STAR qualified air conditioners and other products that not only saves you money, but they also help save the environment.
Heating and cooling costs the average homeowner about $1,000 a year — nearly half the home's total energy bill. If your central air conditioning unit is more than 12 years old, replacing it with an ENERGY STAR qualified model could cut your cooling costs by 30%.
As much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. So making smart decisions about your home's heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system can have a big effect on your utility bills — and your comfort.

Energy Rebate Program
You may not be aware of the recently signed, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. On February 17, 2009, President Obama made important changes to the homeowner tax credits for specified energy-efficient home improvements, which includes qualified heating and cooling products. Two of the more significant revisions to this include the extension of the tax credit through 2010 and the increase of the total available tax credit from 10% to 30%.
Homeowners who purchase any qualified heating and cooling product between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 are now eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the full purchase and installation price with a cap of $1,500.
What is a tax credit?
The qualifying heating and cooling equipment Tax Credit is not received when you buy the product, like an instant rebate. A Tax Credit on your heating and cooling equipment is claimed on your federal income tax form at the end of the year. The credit then increases the tax refund you receive or decreases the amount paid in.
Tax credits vs. tax deductions.
In general, a tax credit is more valuable than a similar tax deduction. A tax credit reduces the tax you pay, dollar-for-dollar. Tax deductions, such as those for home mortgages and charitable giving, for example, lower your taxable income. If you are in the 30 percent tax bracket, your income tax is reduced by 30 percent of the value of a tax deduction. But a tax credit reduces your federal income tax by 100 percent of the amount of the credit.
If you have purchased any air conditioners, heaters, air cleaners, air handlers, boilers, furnaces, humidifiers, packaged units, or thermostats, you may qualify for this energy savings program.
